7. Patina Stage to Bring out the Image

I don't have video of this stage yet but I use either Liver of Sulfur or a silver blackening agent to darken the recessed areas on the piece to make the image stand out better. Then I hand polish off the blackened areas from the surface areas to really make the piece pop!

6. Tumbling the Silver Medallions

This step takes about 2 hrs or more to tumble the pieces and produce a lustrous shine on the silver pieces. It burnishes the pieces to provide additional smooth texture.

5. Brass Brush Stage

After the medallions cool off from the kiln heat, I use a brass brush to remove the white coating left on the pieces from the heating process.

I use wax stamps to create the images on my medallions because I can't draw to save my life. There are endless stamps I can get so I just buy them and stamp the PMC clay.
